Fifi Kwetey: suggests that Bawumia lacks a sense of gratitude.

Fifi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of lacking gratitude. According to Kwetey, Dr. Bawumia's failure to acknowledge the contributions of previous governments, particularly regarding the Ghana Card initiative which was initiated under the NDC and continued by subsequent administrations, suggests that he does not value the efforts of others.

Kwetey stated that Dr. Bawumia struggles to express appreciation for the work done by his predecessors, indicating a significant deficiency in gratitude on his part. This criticism arose during a press conference in Accra, where Kwetey responded to Dr. Bawumia's remarks at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on February 7th.

He further emphasized, "A genuine leader recognizes the contributions made by those who came before them. They understand that leadership is akin to a relay race, where each leader builds upon the achievements of their predecessors by acknowledging and appreciating their contributions. For instance, during the tenure of Mills/Mahama led NDC, credit was given to the Kufuor-led NPP for the completion of the N1 Highway, despite the bulk of the work being done during their own administration. Similarly, credit was not claimed by the Mills/Mahama administration for the construction of the Bui Dam, even though they had invested additional resources to ensure its completion."

He highlighted the occasion when President Kufuor was invited and duly recognized during the commissioning of the Bui Dam for his government's role in securing the finances for the project. According to Kwetey, this display of gratitude is a hallmark of a confident and secure leader. He lamented that Dr. Bawumia, in contrast, exhibits a significant deficiency in expressing gratitude.
