Jambo Spaces, Ghana's pioneering digital creator hub and incubator, has secured a €20,000 grant from the Creation Africa Ghana (CAG) initiative. This program, organized by the French Embassy in Ghana, is designed to support entrepreneurs in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). The initiative's goal is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation in Ghana by offering participants comprehensive training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Since its launch last year, the CAG program attracted 608 applicants from diverse creative fields such as fashion, culinary arts, photography, music, and literature. Through a rigorous selection process that included a boot camp and pitching sessions, Jambo Spaces emerged as one of the 15 beneficiaries from a pool of 30 finalists.
Founders Bernard Kafui Sokpe, Therese Jones, and Natasha Mann-Dedey expressed their gratitude and excitement, stating that the grant would be used to launch key projects like the Africa Digital Creator Academy and to upgrade their content creation equipment. The Africa Digital Creator Academy aims to be West Africa's first official content creator academy, focused on training and mentoring aspiring digital creators.
During the prize presentation, French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules-Armand Aniambossou, highlighted the program's role in establishing a new partnership between France and Ghana. He reaffirmed the French Embassy's dedication to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and fostering sustainable job creation.
Jambo Spaces has been pivotal in providing a collaborative space for creatives in Accra, offering co-working spaces, event venues, and studios for musicians and podcasters. This grant represents a significant milestone in Jambo Spaces' mission to empower African creatives and boost their global competitiveness.
