The role of Bellingham won't alter with Mbappe at Real Madrid - Ancelotti

According to manager Carlo Ancelotti, Jude Bellingham's position at Real Madrid will not alter as a result of Kylian Mbappe's arrival.

In his rookie season, Bellingham, a 21-year-old midfielder from England, contributed significantly to the Spanish team's victory in both La Liga and the Champions League by scoring 23 goals in 42 games.

The 25-year-old striker for France, Mbappe, left Paris St-Germain this summer to sign for Real on a free transfer. Bellingham wouldn't play a bigger part to accommodate Mbappe, according to Ancelotti, who stated: "Nothing changes for him." Nothing is altered. "He really shocked everyone in the first season by displaying amazing quality and maturing as a man. The upcoming season won't be any different.

"He is going to be one of the best players that we have, supporting a lot the team with his quality."

Following criticism of Bellingham's efforts in Euro 2024, where England advanced to the final, the Italian also supported Bellingham.

"This is an opinion but Bellingham played really well at the Euros," he stated. "England had a great game; they made it to the final and almost won it. I'm not sure how worn out the players are from the match.

"The most important players are used to playing every three days, they manage that really well and arrive at the end of the season without any problems."

Ancelotti has also asked Chelsea's owners, who have fired Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, and Thomas Tuchel during the ownership shift, to have greater patience with managers.

At the Bank of America stadium in Charlotte on Tuesday, the former Blues boss will take on his countryman Enzo Maresca as both clubs wrap up their US tours.

"They need to be a little bit patient, the owners, to take experience, to grow. But the signings that they have [made] are really good," he continued. Ancelotti went on to say that Madrid does not need to re-sign exiled Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who spent last season on loan at Santiago Bernabeu. "We love him. We love him but in that position, we are covered."
